Welcome to the Carter Lomax School Counseling Website!  I am Mrs. Crum one of the school counselors for Carter Lomax Middle School in the Pasadena Independent School District.  I have the joy of working with 6th Grade students through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling.  I also collaborate with school staff and all parents in order to best meet the needs of students.

Greetings students and families! My name is Ms. Malave and I have the privilege of working with our incoming 5th graders. I provide support for all students individually, in the classroom, or small group sessions, and virtually or in-person for families and staff. I am very excited to start this year together! Let's go, COLTS!

What do we do?

Classroom Guidance Lessons

We visit classrooms multiple times throughout the school year and have the chance to interact with every student during these lessons.  Lessons typically last 15- 30 minutes in length and cover topics such as school readiness skills, understanding feelings of self and others, problem solving skills, friendship skills, and study skills.

Small Group Counseling

A variety of small groups are offered to students who may benefit from spending some extra time developing academic, social, or emotional skills along with their peers, and to students who are coping with similar life situations.  Groups can have anywhere from 3-12 members and usually meet once a week during lunch or reads/solves time  for several weeks.

Individual Counseling

Students have the option to benefit from one-on-one counseling regarding academic, social, or emotional challenges.
