Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer has been filled with time to relax, enjoy your families, and make special memories. As we prepare to welcome our Colts back to campus, I am incredibly excited for the year ahead!
For those I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, my name is Shaun Owen, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Carter Lomax Middle School. I have spent more than 15 years serving students and families in Pasadena ISD, including the past nine years as an assistant principal at Pasadena Memorial High School. I am excited to bring that experience to Lomax and, more importantly, to become part of this incredible community.
One of the things that has already stood out to me about Carter Lomax is the strong sense of community. Our teachers and staff care deeply about our students and are committed to creating a school where every child feels safe, valued, respected, and challenged to grow.
At Lomax, we will put students at the center of every decision we make. We will maintain high expectations while providing the support students need to meet them. Our goal is not only academic success, but to help our Colts become confident, kind, responsible, and successful young people who are prepared for whatever comes next.
We also know that student success is a team effort. Our families are an essential part of the Lomax family, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with you throughout the year. I want to hear what you love about our school, learn where we can improve, and work alongside you to make Carter Lomax even better.
Most importantly, I want our students to know that I am here for them. I am excited to get to know their names, celebrate their successes, listen to their ideas, and support them when things don’t go as planned.
Together, let’s make 2026–2027 a year of connection, growth, achievement, and Colt Spirit!
My door is always open, and I look forward to partnering with you this year.
Mr. Owen
